TILLAGE LIVE 2011: Wednesday 14th September 2011

This year’s annual Tillage event saw a new format and a new name for the event in the shape of Tillage Live. Several new features to the event saw the introduction of five work stations where visitors could improve their knowledge on subjects such as slug pellet application to ground compaction issues.
Pöttinger UK were in attendance with a wide range of equipment at work, the Pöttinger line up consisted of:
- SERVO 25 4F plough
- SERVO 45 S 5F plough c/w Traction Control
- LION 3002 Power Harrow
- VITASEM 302 ADD Seed Drill
- SYNKRO 6003 T Trailed Cultivator
- TERRASEM C6 Seed Drill
Also for the first time this year was the inclusion of a central demonstration arena that allowed every exhibitor a 5 minute slot to demonstrate their latest and/or most interesting products at the very heart of the event adjacent to the static stand area. This new development was a success with many exhibitors taking up the opportunity to demonstrate.
We at Pöttinger UK brought forward our SERVO 45 S with Traction Control to demonstrate the increased productivity and significant fuel savings that could be achieved by utilising Traction Control.
The other product we chose to demonstrate in this new arena was the TERRASEM C6. Here we did something that no other drill did at the event and that was to work the TERRASEM C6 directly on the freshly ploughed soil then moving instantly to working directly into stubble really impressed the large crowd watching.
Back on the Pöttinger UK demo plot we were busy taking sales enquiries from many interested visitors. There was specific interest in the SYNKRO 6003 T trailed cultivator which was working exceptionally well in the heavy wet clay marl soils. Coupled to the New Holland T9 articulated tractor this cultivator was lifting out compaction, mixing the soil effectively and levelling in one pass. The TERRASEM C6 and LION/VITASEM combination were also turning heads and attracting a lot of interest working down this very heavy soil to a perfect seedbed.
