Czech agricultural association relies on Pöttinger
Eight machines in successful operation
The agricultural association AGRINO, s. r. o. from Oldřichov in the Tábor region (CZ) farms an area of 1,400 ha; 200 ha of which is pasture and meadow. Crops include 200 ha rapeseed, 150 ha malting barley, 450 ha winter wheat and 150 ha maize for silage and biogas plants. The ground is clay and sand, but is not particularly hilly.
They have a total of eight Pöttinger machines in operation, which were purchased between 2007 and 2009. The first machine was the JUMBO 6600 L silage wagon, followed by a TERRADISC 4000 disc harrow, a EUROTOP 651 double rake, a NOVADISC 730 mower combination, a NOVACAT 306 F alpha-motion front mower, a HIT 810 N tedder and an AEROSEM 6000 F seed drill combination with a LION 6000 power harrow.
"The mower combination covers 600 ha every year, with around 50 ha per day being mown at an average of 3 to 4 litres of diesel. After the third season all I can say about these machines is that normal servicing and replacement of spare parts was required. These machines are ideally suited to our conditions. We are impressed with the Pöttinger rake, which is reliable, delivers high performance, and is easy to use. Without the Pöttinger tedder we would be unable to manage the hay harvest. Its performance and reliability are unbelievable. Thanks to these machines we managed to harvest the hay in challenging conditions: 400 ha within 10 days, which is a third of the usual time," says Jaromír Novotný, managing director of the AGRINO farm association.

The managing director is also highly satisfied with the JUMBO loader wagon, which makes hay production much easier and produces better quality. At the moment they are also using the JUMBO for transporting maize. Thanks to its size and enormous cost effectiveness, the JUMBO can replace a harvester and two transport units. The quality of the mowed crop is excellent and the harvest is brought in very quickly.
Jaromír Novotný also rates the tillage equipment and seed drills positively. "Without the TERRADISC disc harrow - which has already worked 4,000 ha without problems - we would have difficulty sowing winter crops. The TERRADISC was used twice before drilling, where the AEROSEM and LION combo was sent straight out after the second pass. The working quality of the disc harrow depends on the speed, which should be higher than 12 km. The quality of tillage is then high and you can cover around 40 hectares a day. The seed drill combination delivers excellent performance. Growth is much better. It covers 1,200 ha per season at a rate of 30 to 50 ha per day, depending on whether it is being used on coarse furrows or well-prepared soil. However, most of the time we go to the trouble of preparing the soil prior to drilling so that we can maintain speed and quality."
