10 years of Pöttinger success in Poland
A success story
During the 80s and 90s there were occasional orders for Pöttinger machinery in Poland. 1999 was the first year that systematic marketing was applied in this eastern European country with the assistance of one "Mr. Pöttinger". We recently celebrated the anniversary of 10 years' success in Poland.
Pöttinger achieved a turnover of around € 10 million in Poland during the last financial year. Two thirds of this figure was accounted for by forage harvesting machinery and the remainder with tillage equipment. Disc mowers and loader wagons are the key products in the grassland sector while the plough dominates in tillage
Structure of agriculture in Poland: The average farm size is approx. 10 hectares with around 1.8 million farming businesses overall. 78 % of the farmed area is arable. Poland has been a member state of the EU since May 1st, 2004. Agriculture and the food industry have enormous potential.
How it all began
Back in the 80s and 90s, occasional orders for Pöttinger machinery were placed in Poland. Systematic marketing did not begin until the financial year 1998/99. The employment of Juliusz Tyrakowski - AKA "Mr. Pöttinger" - in early 1999 saw the start of the trail of success Pöttinger has enjoyed in this eastern European country. Pöttinger currently employs five people on location. Thanks to the direct customer care provided by Pöttinger employees in Poland, it has been possible to ensure efficient and sustainable market support. A wide area network of dealers is now available for sales and optimum spare parts supply.
The 10-year anniversary was, of course, celebrated in style. At the end of June 50 Pöttinger dealers in Poland and a delegation from Grieskirchen/Austria were invited to the anniversary festivities. An exciting program of events delighted the visitors to this highly successful celebration.
