Scotgrass 2007, 15th May
Scottish Agricultural College, Crichton Royal, Dumfries, Scotland
After a week of heavy rain in South West Scotland, the clouds lifted just in time for the Scotgrass grass harvesting demonstration event. Held this year at the renowned dairy research unit of The Scottish Agricultural College visitors were able to see a wide range of machinery working across the 100 acre site.
Landmec Pottinger exhibited a comprehensive range of Pottinger grassland equipment. With five different Pottinger forage wagons on show, it went some way to demonstrate the highly efficient performance of this market leading wagon range. A representative selection of Pottinger wagons were at work and the lush, thick, heavy grass meant that visitors were able to see the wagons operate in true local conditions.
With Pottinger machines at work across two different plots on Deutz Fahr and Massey Ferguson tractors, this saw Landmec Pottinger demonstrating the largest volume of machines from any one manufacturer at Scotgrass, 18 in all.
The event also saw the British launch of the Pottinger Novadisc 730 lightweight disc mower combination. This 7.24 mtr unit was turning heads operating on a 120hp tractor, covering the allotted demonstration plot with ease.
