Pöttinger 8600 mower combination in Tasmania
Feature story of ag contractor & large scale farmer
With a dry and slow season upon him, Tasmanian contractor Andrew Wylie ist working hard to diversify his services in order to grow his business.
Andrew Wylie wants to further expand the range of services he provides through his devonportbased business. One option he is considering is sod seeding.
“At the moment I’m trying to get into contract maize growing and starting maize feed stores up. We will possibly end up with a situation where we will have a supply of maize and people can ring and buy it by the load.” Andrew has a 100-acre commercial crop planted this year with most of it pre sold. However, he intends to lease his own land and grow and sell the maize from there.
