Stříbrný family farming business builds on Pöttinger
The family-run business operated by Karel and Zdeňka Stříbrný in Radim near Jičín currently farms 223 ha, of which around 200 ha is arable. Around 40 ha of the arable land is used for forage.
| They have good conditions for agriculture here. All their land is located close to the farm at an elevation of around 350 m above sea level. Their focus is on livestock, in particular a herd of Holstein dairy cattle. This herd produces a potential annual milk yield of 10,350 kg. These farmers are known as the best breeders in eastern Bohemia, and one of the top breeders in the whole of the Czech Republic. This underlines how important it is for the farm to produce the very best quality forage. |

Their harvest machinery line-up consists of a NOVACAT 305 H CRW disc mower with roller conditioner, a EUROHIT 54 N tedder and a EUROTOP 421 N windrower. The EUROPROFI 5000 L loader wagon will be replaced this year with a EUROPROFI 5000 D fitted with beater rotors. The wagon has proven to be highly effective for lucern-based silage.

"We have also got a TERRADISC 3000 compact harrow, which is mainly used in the spring for preparing the field. We have equipped the TERRADISC with a Drillbox for sowing the forage crop. In the field this provides an enormous saving in diesel. |
